About Us

As individuals, we identify ourselves as Christians. As a congregation, we identify ourselves as a church of Christ. This is to emphasize our relationship with Christ. We belong to Him, having been baptized into Christ. “For you are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus. For all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ” (Galatians 3:26-27). In Christ all spiritual blessings are found (Ephesians 1:3-7). Every member of the congregation accepts Jesus as Lord. By His authority each one was immersed in water in order to receive the forgiveness of sins. “...Repent, and let each of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins...” (Acts 2:38).

We accept the Bible as the inspired Word of God and try to follow it as our only guide in religious matters. We are an independent congregation without denominational affiliation. The Scriptures reveal that each congregation should be self-governing under the oversight of elders (I Peter 5:1-3).

We do not claim to be perfect. We have many shortcomings. The Bible tells us that we all sin and fall short of the purpose God has for us (Romans 3:23). For this reason we need Christ. His perfect sacrifice paid the price for our sins. “He made Him who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him” (2 Corinthians 5:21). In Christ we have fellowship with God and with one another (I John 1:6-7).

As a congregation, we have joined hearts and hands in a mutual work of service. We want to share the good news of Jesus Christ with others. For this reason, we make provision to preach the gospel. We engage in public worship following the example given by the apostles (Acts 2:42). We want to encourage one another to love and good deeds (Hebrews 10:23-25). We love each other. We rejoice with those who rejoice. We weep with those who weep. We do good works to glorify our Father in heaven (Matthew 5:16).

We urge you to investigate! We urge you to study the Bible, and follow it as your infallible guide in religious matters. We are not a sect; we have nothing to sell and we offer nothing but the teaching of Jesus Christ. We earnestly plead with you to follow God’s word found in the Bible!

When You Visit

We want you to visit with us. You may expect to be treated as an honored and respected guest. You will not be embarrassed in any way. You will not be singled out for public attention. You will not be solicited for contributions.

It is our intention to be guided by the Bible only. Hence, our worship includes only those activities that have been authorized for Christians. On the first day of every week (Acts 20:7) the Lord’s Supper is commemorated (I Corinthians 11:24-26), God is praised by singing (Colossians 3:16), prayer is offered (I Timothy 2:1-4), each member has an opportunity to give as God has instructed (I Corinthians 16:1-2), and God’s Word is the basis for all teaching (2Timothy 4:1-5).
